Mr. Adam Laman is starting his second year as the Director of Bands at Station Camp High School. Mr. Laman earned his degree in Music Education from the University of Tennessee at Martin.

 

Mr. Laman spent his first twelve years of his teaching career at Goodpasture Christian School in Madison, Tennessee. He taught grades 5th-12th during his time at Goodpasture. His teaching responsibilities were: Marching Band (7th-12th), Wind Ensemble (9th-12th), Percussion Class (7th-12th), 6th Grade Beginning Band, 7th Grade Band, 8th Grade Band, 5th Grade Intro to Instrumental Music, AP Theory, Jazz Band, Chamber Ensembles, and Orchestra Director for the Spring Musical.

 

Mr. Laman’s students have achieved such accolades as MTSBOA Superior Concert Band Performance Ratings in both middle school and high school bands, Tennessee Division 1 State Marching Band Champions (2016 and 2021), Tennessee State Marching Band Finalist (2010-2021), Bands of America Regional Class A Champion (2014), WGI Winds Scholastic A Class Finalist (2016), SCGC Bronze Medal Indoor Winds (2021), SCGC Bronze Medal - Winter Guard (2013), SCGC & TN State Marching Champions - Winter Guard (2018), and SCGC Silver Medal and TN State Champions - Winter Guard (2023). Mr. Laman has also had students participate in Drum Corps International, All American Marching Band, Tennessee All-State Honor Band, and other honor bands in the state of Tennessee. His proudest achievement is receiving multiple invitations to the TMEA All-State Concert Performance Assessment  for his Middle School and High School Ensembles.

 

Mr. Laman’s professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), National Education Association (NEA), Tennessee Bandmasters Association (TBA), Middle Tennessee State Band and Orchestra Association (MTSBOA), Tennessee Music Educators Association (TMEA), and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. 

 

When not involved in music or teaching-related activities, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Mary Elise and two daughters, Lily and Luna. He also enjoys playing video games and is a huge fan of the Tennessee Titans and Nashville Predators.
