Concert Band

In symphonic band, class activities continue to emphasize the development of instrument technique, tone production, tuning, fundamentals of music theory, music reading, and listening skills at an advanced level. Examples of performance venues might include, a Veteran’s Day Program, Winter Concert, Spring Concert, and Concert Performance Assessment.  Qualified students may be invited to participate in different ensembles apart from the entire band such as marching band, pep band, small ensembles, jazz band, and winter guard/winds, and others. Midyear, band members can audition for Mid-State and other honor bands.  Those who audition and make the different honor bands will perform with some of the best students in the state of Tennessee.  Students are expected to furnish their own instrument (some exceptions apply to players of larger instruments) and the necessary supplies for the proper care and playing of that instrument.  While not required, each student is highly encouraged to take private lessons on his or her instrument.

“The concert band serves as our heart and soul of the Station Camp Band program.”            - Adam Laman, Director of Bands
